Financial Accountant

Location: Slough (Hybrid) X2 days in Office 
Department: Reporting Finance Team
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000

 

I'm currently partnering with a high growth global organisation with a revenue circa £4.5 Billion on the recruitment of a Financial Accountant to join their finance function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and supporting financial planning and decision-making processes.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reporting and a solid understanding of the Financial Services (FS) sector. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the ambition to grow into a senior position within the organisation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate general ledger entries.
  • Maintain and oversee the company’s financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Assist with tax filings, statutory reporting, and financial risk management.
  • Support internal teams with financial insights and reports as needed.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
  • 3-5+ years of experience in reporting, preferably within the Financial Services sector.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Lease accounting experience and IFRS 16 knowledge
  • Financial instruments accounting, IFRS 9 and IFRS 7
  • Financial statement preparation and management of external audit
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
