Senior Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire

We are currently partnered with an exciting FMCG market leader within their field on the recruitment of an accounts assistant role to join their growing finance team in order to support the continued growth of the business.

With an ambitious five-year expansion plan throughout the business, the successful candidate will be instrumental in enhancing process efficiencies to deliver first-class central functions and contribute to the success of the business.

Job Description: As a Senior Accounts Payable Clerk, you will manage all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This role involves handling high volumes of transactions and providing leadership within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing:
    • Review, verify, and process invoices and check requests.
    • Sort, code, match, and upload invoices into the system.
  • Payment Management:
    • Prepare and process electronic payments.
    • Conduct weekly and monthly payment runs.
    • Reconcile transactions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Maintain vendor files and address inquiries.
    • Perform statement reconciliations and manage intercompany payments.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Assist with month-end closing and produce financial reports.
    • Provide documentation for audits and ensure SOP compliance.
  • Supervisory Duties:
    • Supervise and train accounts payable staff.
    • Handle daily queries and support new starters.

Qualifications:

High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of accounts payable experience.
  • Supervisory or training experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
