Accounts Payable Team Leader 

Location: Blackburn 

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 based on experience

 

I am currently partnered with a leading global organisation located in Preston. To bolster the strength of their finance team and sustain their trajectory of success, they seek experienced  Accounts Payable team leader to join their team.

Role Overview:

As the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will oversee and manage the entire accounts payable function, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. You will play a critical role in maintaining strong vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, and leading the continuous improvement of our financial processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervisor the Accounts Payable team, ensuring efficient daily operations.
  • Oversee the processing of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, resolving payment issues, disputes, and discrepancies.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with aviation industry regulations, tax laws, and internal controls.
  • Prepare monthly AP reports, including cash flow forecasts and ageing reports for senior management.
  • Implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce payment delays.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and smooth processes.
  • Oversee reconciliations, month-end closing processes, and internal/external audits.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable supervisor, ideally within the aviation or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment.
